If you or anyone else you know could benefit from the below listed techniques and if you wish to find out more about the techniques, we strongly encourage you to contact us.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness. We experience altered states (daydreaming while driving a car) many times throughout the day. Hypnotherapy is a communication process which promotes a heightened state of awareness of selective and focused attention. Clinical hypnosis deliberately induces a relaxed state of awareness. Once the mind is in a relaxed state, therapeutic suggestions can have a shifting effect on attitudes and perceptions, allowing for desired changes in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours to occur.
Hypnosis can be applied to address mental, physical or behavioural problems or to improve and enhance performance. It is an effective way in accomplishing positive lifestyle changes accompanied by healthier perceptions and beliefs.
Hypnosis is one of the most powerful (utilising the potential of the unconscious mind) therapeutic tools available to us. It enhances a better understanding about your situation and promotes connection rather than separation of body-mind.
The more specific your concern is the greater the possibility to get the results you desire. However, hypnosis leans itself as a therapy of first choice in overcoming what initially might appear to be overwhelming, unsurmountable and complex problems. The effectiveness of hypnosis resides within its simplicity of application, and, of course the client-therapist relationship which resides in a space of trust and confidentiality.
Mindfulness can be defined as awareness of present experience (moment to moment) with acceptance. Mindfulness in action, apart from meditative practice itself ideally happens in everyday living. However, to harvest the benefits, it requires practice to expand skills, awareness of self – and others. There is no choice but to walk the walk. Initially, it is important to receive proper guidance to avoid unnecessary pitfalls. Great care should be taken in finding a meditation instructor.
The practice can be divided into four stages: Breath Meditation, Mindfulness and the Body, Mindfulness and Emotions, and Loving Kindness – Compassion. The aim of meditative practice is getting to know ourselves, promoting an intimate, nurturing relationship, and by doing so ending seemingly never – ending internal conflicts, overthinking, self-doubts residing deep within, and too often lead to self-destructive actions keeping us stuck in a space of dis-approval and resignation.
This type of Meditation is one way to help and support people who have been experiencing mental health concerns (addictions, anxiety, depression) and / or chronic diseases (diabetes, fibromyalgia, migraine, pain) over extended periods of time. It is quite common that people experience several ailments at once, negatively impacting body-mind. Under those conditions, the attention for self-care can easily fall to the wayside.
Meditation with focused attention can elicit a relaxation response promoting the functions of the para-sympathetic nervous system within the body. The applied meditation techniques are specific-to-the-point practices focusing on minimising and reducing the experienced discomfort. The practices are intended to boost the body’s resilience and immune system promoting the recovery from serious illnesses either as an adjunct or a stand-alone-technique.
Individuals will eventually learn to administer the techniques themselves to make their lives more comfortable and enjoyable. The idea is to gain greater self-reliance through practice kick starting a process of healing.
Mind Coaching – Health and Wellbeing
Mind Coaching for Health and Wellbeing is aimed at people who are doing well and living a satisfying life. However, you may feel that you have not been able to adjust your lifestyle and behaviour patterns to your liking and struggle committing to action(s). Often it can be a mismatch of values, uncertainty and disbelief hindering the individual. It is important to understand that overwhelm and disbelief can be broken down and no longer need to constitute a barrier which stand in the way of change. The coaching process is educational, and evidence based with a strong focus on the mind. A client’s wellness vision can include physical, emotional, social, spiritual and financial aspects. Mind Coaching can help lay the foundation, finding the inspiration and motivation to get started on improving emotional and physical health.
A first meeting will set the agenda, addressing goals, expectations and health outcomes coupled with an emphasis of enjoying and focusing on the path rather than the goal. The idea is that the client gets empowered and develops skill sets which enable sustainable behaviours in the future. Throughout the process, we will draw on principles from Hypnosis, Mindfulness, Meditation, NLP, Positive Psychology / Strength-based Psychology.
NLP – Neuro Linguistic Programming
The focus of NLP therapy is on how problems are handled, and consequently resolved in the present. According to NLP – everything is a process. NLP takes a close look at how things are done and how they can be amended to reach better outcomes. NLP does not require to dwell in the past. The process is more concerned about where you are now…and where you rather want to be…and how to get there. It can work as a stand-alone approach or be incorporated into other methods of therapeutic intervention. NLP is a helpful tool to elicit beliefs and enables the individual to better understand their situation and experience different positions / possibilities to act relating to the same issue or problem at hand.
EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique
EFT is an energy therapy, a combination of Eastern and Western medicine. It is based on the concept that the cause of all negative emotions can be attributed to a disruption in the body’s energy system. If you do experience anger, anxiety, grief, jealousy, phobia, stress and so forth, EFT could be the approach for a lasting breakthrough.
The use of Positive Psychology is enabling individuals to find resources they might not be aware off. Furthermore, it does not mean we turn black into white and everything is fine. However, people who have spent prolonged time in a state of subdued motivation, fun, lack of love do find it difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Similarly, to NLP, Positive Psychology allows us to reflect on our state of being, becoming open to ways which could brighten up our lived experience thus allowing for a reset, a reframe of our point of view, beliefs and preparing the path for better workable options and eventually experience and expand a state of wellbeing, emotional resilience. It does become important to shift the attention on more positive things in life if we wish to move away from or get out of the stuck state.
